Batch Scanning on Printer (Scanning many pages at a time to a USB) (2c per page) In the ‘scan’ settings, there is an option called ‘Batch’. Patrons can use this if they are trying to scan multiple pages to save to a USB stick.

The ‘batch’ option enables patrons to put all their documents in the paper tray at the same time (the same way they would if they were making a printed copy with multiple pages). The printer will then scan and save all of the documents onto their USB stick. This prevents them from having to scan images one at a time on the glass.

  1. Click ‘Batch’ in the settings. (This is where it differs from our typical instructions!)
  2. Place all documents face-up in the tray on top of the printer.
  3. Select ‘start’ to scan. When done scanning all documents, click ‘finish scan’ on the blue pop-up to save scanned sheets to USB.

Batch Scan at Computers (MAC) (free) Note: If a patron wants to scan multiple pages into one PDF, or if they are having difficulties with the scanners not scanning the whole page, they should make sure they are in office mode and not picture or auto mode.

Selecting Office Mode allows them to pick different paper sizes, like A4. It also lets them scan multiple pages and save into one PDF.

Alternatively, they can try using SilverFast, which is downloaded to the Mac closest to the CLC desk.
