Making Appts

Go to https://ubcca.mywconline.com/. If you do not have an account, click on the “Click here to register” link and fill out the form.

Note: Before making an appointment, be sure that you are viewing the correct WCOnline site. Please also be sure that you are at web address ubcca and that the light blue UBC crest is showing. Otherwise, you are at the UBC-O site.

Once you’ve found the tutor and open time slot you would like to reserve, click on the space. A window will pop up that will ask you to input certain information in order to reserve the appointment. Once you fill out the form, click “Save” and your appointment will be made. You will receive a confirmation e-mail immediately. If you wish to change or cancel your appointment, you can do so by clicking on the appointment in WCOnline. A pop-up window will appear that allows you to make the changes as necessary.

Appointments must be booked online through WCOnline (https://ubcca.mywconline.com/)and are available in 30-minute time slots, with a limit of two per week. Time slots can be booked back-to-back. Please call 604-822-9564 with any questions.

Keeping Appts

Because of the high demand for tutors, it is important to be on time for appointments. If you are more than 5 minutes late, the appointment will not be held and will become available as a drop-in slot or opened for students on the waitlist.

If you need to cancel an appointment, please do so through WCOnline at least 24 hours before your scheduled appointment, or else you will be counted as a no-show. You can cancel or change appointments in the same way as you make appointments.

There is no penalty for cancelling an appointment.

If you have two no-shows on your record, your account will be disabled. Please email writing.centre@ubc.ca with questions. Drop-in times at Chapman Learning Commons are on a first come, first served basis and a 20 minute time limit on sessions may be enforced to ensure that everybody can have access to a tutor.
