Managing Another User's Calendar

The owner of the calender that you are going to manage needs to set the permission levels to "Publishing Editor" for your EAD account.

For the calendar in question, right click, select "share" followed by "Calender Permissions". Select "Publishing Editor" from the permission levels drop down, then click Apply and OK.

Making Appointments

You can now manage the calendar of your supervisor. Depending on what you need to do, here are some suggestions to help you accomplish that.

You are Arranging the Meeting

The preferred method for arranging meeting such that the supervisor does not receive all the confirmation emails, is to create the meetings in your own calendar.

Your supervisor as well as all other attendees will be invited to your meeting. This way you are able to manage all the emailed calendar responses.

Your Supervisor is Invited to a Meeting

Depending on your unit's protocol, the meeting invites can come to your personal account or directly into your supervisor's account.

For the latter case, you need to monitor your supervisor's calendar and look out for tentative appointments. Since the invite was sent directly to them you will not receive an email meeting notification, unless you are also managing their emails.

Arranging Appointments via a generic FASmail account

If you have a generic FASmail account for administering bookings for the head of the unit, you can use the instructions as described above for arranging meetings.

You will need to ensure that you are using the calendar for the generic FASmail account when creating the invitations. This way, all staff members with manage access to the generic account can manage the calendar of the head of the unit. See the area circled in red in the image below.
