Jennifer and Kevin McCoy
Currently residing in Brooklyn, New York, multimedia artists Jennifer and Kevin McCoy are a married couple who work together as a team to create art. The couple met each other while studying abroad in Paris, France at the University of Paris III: Paris, France in 1990. [1] They have been working collaboratively ever since. [2]
They like to explore changing conditions around social roles, categories, and genres through various mediums ranging from sculpture to video installations. [3] They recreate moments and memories of their personal life effects and experiences with technology by blending together two-dimensional and three-dimensional objects. The McCoys have worked on various areas including things such as recreation, repetition, reenactment, and miniaturization. [4]
Their works have been exhibited at many places such as The Metropolitan Museum of Art, P.S.1, Postmasters Gallery, The Museum of Modern Art, The New Museum, Smack Mellon, the Pompidou Center, the British Film Institute, ZKM, the Hanover Kunstverien, the Bonn Kunstverein, and F.A.C.T. (Liverpool, UK). [5] They have received several awards which include the Wired Rave Award in 2005 and the Guggenheim Fellowship in 2011. [6]
