Documentation:Using Piazza through Connect
Piazza is a Q&A style forum that can be easily integrated with Connect. Piazza allows:
- Students and Instructors to post questions. Other students’ or Instructors can answer to the question.
- Instructors and students to endorse students’ questions and answers.
- Instructors to check the statistics to see contributions from the students.
Setup Piazza in Connect
- Log in to your Connect course
- Access to content area
- Hover on Tools, and select Piazza.
- Under Tool Information, type in a name and a description
- Under Options, choose yes for Permit users to view this content option
- If you are satisfied with the other options, click Submit.
First Launch
- The link to Piazza is now created to Content Area. Click on Piazza
- Press Submit
- A new window will pop up. Under Create your class on Piazza, enter your estimated enrolment number. You can also change your Class Name and select the term of your class. Under Already created a class on Piazza?, you can also search for existing Piazza classes by typing in the name of the class in the Class Number field.
- If you are satisfied with the setting, click on Create Class or Search.
- Finally, click on Continue in the new page that opens.
Student Access
If students do not have an existing account in Piazza
- Students will access to Piazza through the link you that you have created during the Setup Piazza in Connect step.
- Students will be asked to enter their email and set a password.
- When Students click on Continue, Piazza will launch.
If students have an existing account in Piazza
Instructors can either:
- Provide students with Piazza registration link or
- Redirect students to enter their email account used in Piazza
Where to get Piazza registration link
- Launch Piazza
- From the top menu bar, click on Manage Class.
- Under Signup link, you can find your course's registration link
- Inform the registration link to your students.
Redirect your students to enter their existing log in information in Piazza
- Students will access to Piazza through the link you that you have created during the Setup Piazza in Connect step.
- Students will enter their email address and password that they have used with their existing Piazza account.
- When students click on continue, Piazza will launch.
