Step-by-Step Tutorial

Step 1: Logging In

  • With the account ID and password supplied to you in the handout, login to the test server at the link below. (see Figure 1 right):

Step 2: The Dashboard

  • The Dashboard (See image Figure 2 at right) provides you with an at-a-glance snapshot of your activity on your webspace, such as: pages, posts, categories, and the QuickPress tool. From the Dashboard, you can also access a variety of tools on the left hand menu bar.


  • At the top of the Dashboard, click the Visit Site button











Step 3: Editing a Page

  • On the TAG site, locate the page you need to edit, and click Edit (See image Figure 3 at right). This will take you back to Dashboard area, where you are now able to edit the document.

  • You are now back at Edit Page, where you can add, edit and format the text of the document. (See image Figure 4 at right)



















Step 5: Formatting Your Text with the Kitchen Sink

The Kitchen Sink (see Figure 5 image at right) drop-down toolbar provides you with a menu from which you can choose how to format your text.


  • The Kitchen Sink toolbar enables you to bold fonts, increase font size, change the colour, make bulleted lists, inserts images, and hyperlinks, etc. When you have finished formatting your post click Publish and visit your site.
  • When you have finished making change, click the Preview Changes button. If you are satisfied with your changes, click the Update Page button (See image Figure 6 at right)





















Step 6: Adding an Image

  • On the Upload/Insert toolbar click the Add an Image icon. (see Figure 7 image at right)
  • The Add an Image window appears. Click Select Files.
  • Locate an image from your computer, and click Select (click OK on a PC).
  • Enter a title, caption, a description of the image, and select an image size to be displayed on your page. (Note: the default is Full Size). Click Insert into Page.
  • When you have finished formatting your page, click Update Page on the far right-hand side and visit your site.

  • On the Upload/Insert toolbar click the Add Media icon. (see Figure 8 image at right)
  • The Add an Image window appears. Click Select Files.
  • Locate a file from your computer, and click Select (click OK on a PC). Click Save all Changes.
  • Select your PDF from the list of documents and enter a title, caption, and a description.
  • Click File URL.
  • Click Insert into Post
  • When you have finished inserting media, click Update Page on the far right-hand side and visit your site.
