Documentation:Standard Operating Procedures for Biorad Model 550 Microplate reader

Please obtain proper training from the FNH teaching lab technician Imelda Cheung (Imelda.Cheung@ubc.ca) prior to using the platereader.
Turn on the power (located at the rear right) of the microplate reader.
Press “MODE”, then use the up and down arrows to select “SET ANALYSIS” and press “ENTER”.
Use the up and down arrows to highlight “FILT” and press “SELECT”.
Select appropriate wavelength by using the up and down arrows (1 – 415, 2 – 450, 3 – 570, 4 – 595). Set same wavelength for both Mes and Ref then press “ENTER”.
Press “MODE” to return to display showing “PLATE READING: SINGLE #4”.
Slide open the chamber door, place the microplate in the chamber, and close the door then press “START/STOP”.
When measurement is complete, the data will be automatically printed.
Tear off the print-out, remove the microplate from the chamber and turn off the microplate reader.
