Documentation:Reality Capture Documentation

From UBC Wiki

The reconstruction process using Reality Capture has been automated however sometimes you might need to manually reconstruct the model. Here is how you do that:

  1. Drag and drop or use Inputs
  2. Images tab (see how many – 125 images), this looks for clusters of pixels and matches to figure out position of cameras.
  3. Images and control points – components 0, 125 cameras/125 cameras, this means the software was able to figure out where all the cameras were.
  4. Calculate model

Create a new project in Reality Capture for the second part of the specimen:

  1. Align images
  2. Calculate model

Aligning both models in Reality Capture:

  1. Registration – Reality Capture – alignment – export - save
  2. Open up previous project and do the same
  3. New project
  4. Workflow, alignment, scene Alignment new component
  5. Open up both of the previous models that were just exported
  6. Alignment Settings bottom left (merge components only -Yes), this tells software to not figure out where the cameras are, just to figure out where the components fit together.
  7. Load two components Align
  8. Reconstruct – reconstruct full model
  9. Workflow tab – Calculate model
