Landfill Fire

Candles that are thrown away after they have been burned do not much product is left. However, since candles are flammable, they can potential start a landfill fire. Landfill fires release pesticides, paint, solvents, cleaners or chemical additives into the environment [1].

Health Impacts

Besides the fire itself, release of pesticides, paint, solvents, cleaners or chemical additives after the fire can be potentially lethal for individuals working in the landfill [1]. It is a form of poisoning that can make workers extremely ill [1].
