Internet, Email, CWL

UBC IT offers email accounts, Internet access and web hosting to UBC students, faculty, staff, and the community. For more information, visit the UBC IT website.

You will need a Campus-Wide Login (CWL) to access your Connect course. CWL is UBC’s custom single sign-on application designed to give you access privileges to many secure applications on campus, using the same login id and password. To create your CWL, visit the CWL section on the UBC IT website.

Once you have created your CWL, go to the Connect login page and log in with your CWL. You should see your course on your Connect course list. Contact the Distance Learning Helpdesk if you have any problems.

What is a LMS?

A Learning Management System (LMS) is an online software system designed to support teaching and learning in an educational setting. It offers a collection of tools such as those for assessment, communication, peer assessment, group activities, grading, tracking tools, etc.

Connect is the Course Management System being used at UBC.

System Requirements

It’s very important to prepare your computer for your online course(s). If your computer does not have the proper hardware or software, Connect may run slowly or may not run at all.

Please refer to the e-learning website, where you will see the recommended system requirements to run Connect.

Still need help? Check out the Instructor Resources on the e-learning website.

Resources

Aside from Connect, there are a variety of online learning tools available for you to use in your teaching. We encourage you to learn more about these tools by exploring the following resources:
