From 2010-2012 UBC Mix facilitated three events between Arts One and Science One (two first year programs at UBC).

The first was held at St. John's College on Nov 5th, 2010. Kishor Wasan, director of the Neglected Global Diseases Initiative, gave a lecture. The event was organized by Fok-Shuen Leung and Brandon Konoval. Music was provided by the Department of Music. Close to 100 students attended.

The second was held in the IBLC 361 Oliver Room on March 31st, 2011. Dr. Alexei Kojevnikov of the UBC Department of History gave a lecture entitled "Hiroshima and the Cold War Mobilization of Soviet Science." Approximately 30 students attended.

On March 21, 2012, students from Science One and Arts One planned a third Mix event. They chose a film that is relevant to both Science and Arts students: Frankenstein (Dir. Kenneth Branagh, 1994). The students in both Arts One groups had read Mary Shelley's Frankenstein that year, and Branagh's film is the closest version to Shelley's text. The students watched the film and had a discussion afterwards, complete with snacks and drinks. Approximately 35 students attended.
