Step1:Find and crop the image

  1. Find an image that is Creative Commons Licensed, Public domain or your own image.
  2. Crop the image to 360 by 231 px This is to make sure that the images on the tutorial pages has a consistent size and save.

Step 2: Add images to the tutorials and theme page

  1. Go to the page that you want to add images. For example, if you want to add an image to the "Accessing Information" box- go to Accessing Information page and press Edit Page.
  2. In the Edit page screen, under Featured Image, click on set featured image. Upload the image that you have created in Step 1.
  3. Click on set featured image.
  4. You have added image to the tutorial page! Now move on to Step 3 and 4.


Step 3:Crediting Image

1. On the same page that you are adding an image, scroll to Add New Custom field and select credit from the drop down. 2. Under Value, type in the credit and then press Add Custom field. The credit has to be in HTML text. When you are citing, consider the TASL format. For example, if you are citing this image - https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Robert_Kocharyan_-_first_on-line_internet_interview,_2001.jpg

and you can format like this on custom field:

First on-line internet interview  by <a href="https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Robert_Kocharyan_-_first_on-line_internet_interview,_2001.jpg" target="_blank">LimeGirl </a>(CC-SA-3.0)
  • If the custom field menu does not show up, click on screen option located on top-right of the screen and tick "custom field"

3. Done! You have added a credit to the image!

Step4:Adding alternative text

Similar to Step 3, Add the alternative text to the "'featured_alt custom field.

  1. To add new custom field, under Add New Custom field, select featured_alt from the drop down. Under value, type in the alternative text and then save.
  2. If the custom field menu does not show up, click on screen option located on top-right of the screen and tick "custom field"
