The Needs Grading page can help you determine what needs attention first. From the Needs Grading page, you can view all of the items ready for grading or review and then quickly access the material to begin grading or reviewing assignments. You can even sort and filter columns to narrow the list of Needs Grading material by assignment category, name, user (student), date submitted, and due date.

How to access the Needs Grading page

  1. From the left-hand course menu, open the Control Panel
  2. Select the Grade Center
  3. Click Needs Grading

How to begin Grading and Reviewing directly from the Needs Grading page

You can quickly grade all the items available for review. Each item that needs to be graded will appear on its own page. You can use the Jump to feature to filter your results

  1. From the top, left corner, click Grade All
  2. (Optional) Click Hide User Names to hide the student's names to allow you to grade anonymously
  3. Review the material and enter a grade for the assignment, Connect will display what grading information is required by placing an orange Required Field Astrix next to the required area.
  4. (Optional) Add feedback for the student
  5. (Optional) Add Grading notes for yourself
  6. Select one of the following options:
    • Save as Draft: to save the grade, feedback, and notes but not display the information to students
    • Exit: to return to the Needs Grading page without saving your work
    • Save and Exit: to save your work and return to the Needs Grading page
    • Save and Next: to save your work and continue to the next available material that needs to be graded. If you have not entered a grade, this option will also let you skip an assignment to return to at a later time
