Discussion Boards are a place to share your thoughts and have engaged discussions with your classmates.

You can keep your discussion board organized by changing the order of your posts or by marking them.

This document will show you how to:

  • Sort threads
  • Mark threads read or unread
  • Flag threads
  • Collect threads

Sort threads

  1. To begin, select a discussion board
  2. Select a forum to organize by clicking on its name
  3. Sort threads by clicking on the headers for each column, either in ascending or descending order
    An arrow will appear beside the column header's name to indicate if the threads are sorted in ascending or descending order.

Mark threads read or unread

  1. Hover a thread and click on the face-down arrow at the end of its name
  2. Click Mark as Read
    Posts that have been marked as read are displayed in normal text, posts that have not been read are displayed in bold.

Flag threads

  1. Hover a thread and click on the face-down arrow at the end of its name
  2. Click Set Flag
    Marking a thread is a great reminder that additional action or attention is needed in the future.

Collect threads

  1. Hover a thread and click on the face-down arrow at the end of its name
  2. Click Collect.
  3. Click OK to go back to the discussion board.
    Collected posts can be sorted and printed for quick reading. Once you collect posts, you can sort and filter them before they are printed.
