The discussion board is a great place to share ideas or concepts with your fellow instructor and classmates.

The discussion board is made up of forums. Inside each forum are threads, which are used to organize the discussion around a single topic or a group of related topics.

Individual discussion board forums can be linked to any content area but are also centrally located in the discussion board tool.

This document will show you how to:

  • Create a forum
  • Set forum options

Note: In this video, Connect is referred as Blackboard, but the interface is similar.

Create a forum

  1. Under Course Management on the left-hand side, open Control Panel
  2. Click Course Tools
  3. Click Discussion Board
    The Discussion Board link is under Course Tools in the left-hand side of the screen.
  4. Click on a discussion board
  5. Click Create Forum at the top of the page
    The Create Forum button is at the top of the page of a discussion board.
