Session: "By the End of Your Course, Successful Students Will Be Able To..."

Location: Seminar Room 2.22

Facilitator: Janice Johnson

Description: Learning objectives specify what successful learners will be able to do, know, or have experiences at the end of an instructional activity. They are clear and specific statements that stem from the overarching course goals. Course goals identify the knowledge, skills, and attitudes that successful students gain throughout the course. The document that you use to capture and share this information is called a course profile, or a DACUM. In this interactive, participatory session you will work in groups and individually to create your course profile by developing and drafting your course goals and learning objectives. Once created, these goals and objectives will provide you with a benchmark for assessment, clearly define expectations to learners, and provide your learners with a valuable self-assessment tool.
