Documentation:Botany file sharing server

This server is ready for all Botany Faculty members to use. By default, you have a 5 GB space limit.

You can access your folder on the server through SFTP protocol. You can download WinSCP for Windows computer or Fugu for Mac, or other SFTP client program. To download WinSCP, click this URL: http://winscp.net/eng/download.php.

When running WinSCP, type in ‘file1.botany.ubc.ca’ as Host name. You need type in your username and password. Please make sure you select SFTP as Protocol. Click ‘Login’ after you typing in all info. To download Fugu please goes to http://rsug.itd.umich.edu/software/fugu/download.html . When running Fugu, type in ‘file1.botany.ubc.ca’ behind ‘Connect to:’, then type in your username, then click “Connect”. Another box will show up for your password. Type in your password, then click “Authenticate”.
