Put Title Here: A Study on the Social Media Usage and Academic Stress of College Students
Type of Presentation: Oral
Abstract: This oral report aims to explore the relationship between college students' use of social media and academic stress. The reason why I am interested in this topic is that social media is an important part of students' daily lives and may affect their mental health and learning experiences. Previous studies have shown that social media can have both positive and negative impacts on students, including benefits in communication, as well as increased stress and distraction. However, there is still a gap in understanding how the time spent on social media affects students' perception of academic stress in their daily college life.
This speech will explain a research project based on surveys, with a focus on college students and their daily social media habits. The data will be collected through an anonymous online survey, comparing the time spent on social media with self-reported levels of academic stress. The report will also discuss how to analyze the collected data to identify possible patterns between social media usage and stress. The research results I hope to present suggest that students who spend more time on social media may face greater academic pressure. Meanwhile, this research is limited as it only focuses on a small portion of college students and may not represent all age groups or educational backgrounds.
