Put Title Here: The influence of social media on the political thought of college students

Type of Presentation: Oral

Abstract: I chose this topic because I was particularly curious about whether social media would have an impact on political communication. Because in today's society, a large part of people's political information is obtained from social media. Previous literature has found that almost all ordinary people cannot influence political communication through social media, except for political parties. However, these documents do not study whether social media will imperceptibly influence people's views on political events or their political thoughts. If I were to conduct this research, I would choose college students as my research subjects. This is because college students are a relatively active group on social media. Another point is that they are in the process of getting in touch with society and their thoughts have not yet taken shape, making them excellent research subjects. I would choose the survey questionnaire, that is, the research method of survey. I think this research will find that social media does indeed have an impact on people's political thoughts and their views on political events, because the political events people learn about through social media will be influenced by their attitudes towards the content of the videos on social media. The limitation of the experiment is that the sample is too small.
