The Relationship Between Time and Web Counter-hits of New Music Videos on YouTube.ca

Abstract

In the digital age, online platforms, especially video-sharing websites, such as YouTube, have become significant for information dissemination, entertainment, and social interaction. Counter-hits play an important role in video sharing and influence content creation. Understanding the counter-hits of a video over time is crucial for creators, marketers, and the platform itself to strategize content creation and dissemination. Recent trends have indicated that the period during which a creator’s video is uploaded plays a critical role in their visibility and long-term success. This phenomenon demonstrates that there is a relationship between the time they upload the video and web counter-hits. The study aimed to take research to find out the relationship between the trends of counter-hits and the times period. To complete this study, we obtained data from YouTube.ca by using Youtube Data API. Above fifty musical videos were selected based on the initial view and tracked for growth in web-counter hits. After the collection stage was completed, a line chart was used to begin the data analysis. Our prediction of the relationship between web counter hits and time will be an S-shaped curve. Logistic regression was used in the model, and a function was created to describe the curve of web-counter hits and time. More details about the method and designed plan will be demonstrated in the Method section.
