Comparison of six liquids at prevent corrosion in nails

The corrosion of nails and the influence of household liquids

Abstract

Due to the impact of environmental pollution, there is more and more acid rain on the earth. The surface of many buildings is made of steel, so the surface of many buildings has been affected by corrosion(EPA, 2022). This research is mainly about what kind of solution can prevent iron from rusting. Nails will be immersed into different solutions and the amount of rusting will be measured after 20 days and the phenomenon will be observed. This research will use 6 kinds of solution: Canada Dry, oil, soapy water, oil-water mixture, vinegar and water. The main reason for using these solutions is because these solutions and materials are very common in everyday life.
