The relationship between disposable income and oil consumption in China

Abstract

Our project infers the relationship between personal disposable income and oil consumption using oil production data for China and estimates of oil production from 1990 to 2019. We use mathematical calculations and graphs to show a function between the two variables, using statistics from the China Yearbook website. In conclusion, we investigate the depletion time of China's petroleum reserves, assuming straight-line projections.

Biographies

Dedoria Wang is a UBC Science student who will be a Physics major. He is also very interested in computers, and hopes to get more knowledge about computers through his own efforts in the future.

Jay Zhang is a UBC Science student. His chosen major is a Combined Major. He will study chemistry in his sophomore year.
