The logistic equation and population change

Abstract

The objective of our research project is to prove the accuracy of the logistic equation for describing population change. Our research investigates population change in Korea, China, and Canada between the 1950s and 2020s. This project analyzes different types of data to create a graph by substituting it into a logistic function, and demonstrates that the logistic function is a good method to calculate population change.

Biographies

Tony Lee is a student in the Vantage One Program at the University of British Columbia. He is also interested in Computer Science and Mathematics.

Baoyan Li is a Bachelor of Science student who enjoys the natural environment and loves attending outdoor activities.
