How does different type of substances in water affect its refraction index?

Abstract

This research is going to discuss about the refraction index of water. Our research question is how different type of substances in water affects its refraction index. What we expect to observe is that the refraction index could be changed by adding different substance. Our research question will be important because it could be apply into real life situation, for example to made special diving goggles for scientists if they need to make observations in different river. It can connect to the recent research on physics and material science. In our research, we decide to adding different substance with different concentration and calculate the refraction index in different situation physically.

Biographies

Hao-Hsiang Hsu

Hao-Hsiang Hsu is in his first year studying at Vantage in UBC. He enjoys learning project related to the math and computer science. He wants to join in a major that related to those which he wa enjoyed. He was curious about the feasibility of the method that he learned before he went to university. He was passionated on testing these methods.

Zhuohang Lyu

Zhuohang Lyu is a student stutying in Vantage Science at the Universty of Birtish Coumbia. He is intereting in Statistics and Mathematis and hope o study Statistics in his second year in UBC.
