Title of Project

Comparison of the evaporation rate of cloth and its type under the same temperature, the same pressure and the same surface area

Abstract

Some cloth brands announce that their products suit outdoor sports very well because these products can be dried very soon after they get wet. In this research, we will measure the evaporation rate of water in a wet cloth for different material types of clothes. The purpose of the experiment is to find the influence of several factors on the evaporation rate such as: material types, humidity, temperature and the wind condition. We expect that the result of the experiment will give us information to find what kind of material will be most suitable for wet conditions so this can help people to determine what to buy for outdoor sports as well as design of such clothes.

Biographies

Ruopei Gong is a freshman of science department from vantage college in 2020. In this group assignment, he is mainly responsible for the planning of all experimental processes and the collection and statistics of data. His main direction in this research is to investigate the hydrophilicity and hydrophobicity of different materials, which is closely related to his interest in physics and chemistry.

Luyi Xue, a student from vantage science college, is responsible for the search of data, the preparation of experimental equipment and the determination of objective environmental factors in the group. Her interst region is the study of environment and geology, that makes her have a keen observation in experimental error and problem.

Yang Hu is a first year student of vantage college. In this group assignment, He is in charge of paper works and experiment processes with the help of Ruopei Gong and Luyi Xue. He usually plays the role of icebreaker in the team, which makes our team have a positive atmosphere at most of time.
