Title of Project

THE IMPACT OF RAM ON COMPUTER STANDBY POWER CONSUMPTION

Abstract

In our experiments, we focused on exploring the effect of different RAM on the standby power consumption of Apple laptops. We conducted two rounds of experiments on four Apple laptops with different RAM of M1 and M2 chips. In the first round of experiments, we turned off all applications, Bluetooth and Wi-Fi. In the second round, we turned on Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, and 4 applications. Our results show that the computers with larger RAM have lower standby power consumption. Although the results deviated a bit from our initial guess, we still found some interesting findings.
