VANT 149 Research Project: How much energy released by earthquakes which leads to the increase of the Himalaya Mountain by per 0.1mm?

Abstract:

Himalayan region is the world's highest and largest plateau above sea level. It has an area of 2,500,000 square kilometers. In this project, we assume that more energy will be produced by the higher earthquake magnitude. The objective is that the amount of energy released by earthquakes which lead to the increase of the Himalaya Mountain by per 0.1mm in three months from February 2021 to April 2021. As a result, we found when Himalaya Mountain increase 0.1mm.the energy released by the earthquake is 1317610000000J.  This study can give direct information of the increasing height of Himalaya Mountains, which is beneficial for the future study of the other high mountains. Also, the study may help people predict the increasing trend of mountains as well.
