Research proposal keywords or concepts

Female Mortality Rate

Gender inequality

How would you summarize your proposed research idea?

Our project will use 2 types of methods to find the factors that cause a high mortality rate within 5 years-old females in India. The first is survey which will be conducted through google form with rating scaled answer (Any age of India female could answer), the second is interview, it has in total 9 questions, 50-100 Indian women who are under 35 years old and educated from high school will answer the question.

Where is the literature gap and how does your proposed research attempt to fill that gap?

The reason why Indian government didn't effectively address the high female mortality rate issue is our research gap. We will conduct interviews with female in India to understand their perspectives of the gender inequality issue, we think collecting answers from the population that has experienced the issue will be effective for us to addressing the reasons that caused the issue.

Why is this gap worthy of research?

Based on our research, gender inequality and the female mortality issue are both big problems not only in India but also around the world. Filling this gap will be helpful addressing the gender inequality and high female mortality rates which could help female get equal treatment in the society.

What future change could this research possibly contribute to, related to sustainability?

Our research will promote the sustainable phenomenon of human fertility and reproduction, we will analyze the impact of gender inequality, find solutions and alleviate the gap between the male and female population ratios, which can promote sustainable behavior in the development of human society.

What made your group interested in and/or what excites you about your proposed topic?

Although many governments have imposed policies based on gender inequality, the mortality rate of women continues to increase, especially in India. Due to the idea of patriarchy society has deeply rooted in many Indian families, female in India has faced many inequalities treatment such as crime, medical welfare and etc., which allows us to link it to the birth rate of women. Since gender inequality is a long-standing social problem in India, those of these issues will be worthy of our study.
