Participants

The questionnaire was both created by and administered to a single group: 67 undergraduate students enrolled in a third year level Personality Psychology (Psyc 305A) university course in July 2013 at the University of British Columbia. It was created over a three-week period (no participation marks were awarded for creative participation). It was made available to students to be completed on their own time via a Google online service.

The question of whether completion of the questionnaire was actually voluntary or not should be considered since its completion was a mandatory course requirement. The relationship of how the creative process intersects with, influences or is influenced by the results must be considered.

There was a total of 63 student participants and all of the students were enrolled in an on-campus lecture class.

No inferences will be made with regard to self-reported ethnicities with gender/personality trait criteria.

Demographics

The sample of 63 participants was made up of 50 females, 10 males and 3 individuals who's gender remains undisclosed. Fourteen participants were willing to disclose their age and from this a mean age of 27 years was calculated, with ages ranging from 18 - 49 years old. Thirty-nine participants identified themselves as Asian, accounting for 63% of the sample size. The second largest ethnicity represented in the group was Caucasian, making up 27% of the overall sample size. Certain ethnicities, such as African American, Hispanic/Latino and Native American/First Nations, were not represented in the sample. Out of the 58 participants who were willing to report their religious beliefs, 22% identified as Christian, 22% as Atheistic and 21% as Agnostic. These three groups were most prevalent in the sample size while other religious beliefs, such as Hinduism, Muslim and Sikhism were not reported at all.
