Geometry
Circles:
Area = πr²
Circumference = π(2r)
Properties of a circle:
- No visible straight lines in the circumference. - Length of lines going from one end of the circle to the other and passing through the center well all be the same length (diameter) - No specific start or end point. - π = 3.14159...
Triangles:
Types of Triangles and Their Properties:
1) Equilateral Triangle - All three sides are the same length and all three angles in the triangle are 60 degrees.
2) Isosceles Triangle - Two sides are equal and the two angles that form at the bottom of each of the equal sides are the same.
3) Scalene Triangle - All three sides are different lengths and all three angles are different degrees.
4) Right Angle Triangle - Must have a right angle in it. Other properties vary.
General Properties of a Triangle and Formulas Related to Them:
- All angles in a triangle much equal 180 degrees.
- In a right angle triangle SOH-CAH-TOA can be used to find out unknown information:
- SOH-CAH-TOA Formulas:
1) SOH --> Sine=Opposite ÷ Hypotenuse
2) CAH --> Cosine= Adjacent ÷ Hypotenuse
3) TOA --> Tangent= Opposite ÷ Adjacent
- Pythagorus' Theorum --> A² + B² = C²
