Hi all,

I've been trying question 40 in Section 2.3 of the reading assignment and I can't seem to simplify the numerator in a way that agrees with the fraction as a whole.

The question is

I tried factoring, the quadratic formula; it may just be I'm making a careless mistake or something I'm not seeing, if anyone has any suggestions it would be much appreciated! This they way i think it should be done: 3t^2-7t+2/2-t 3t^2-6t-t+2/2-t 3t(t-2)-1(t-2)/2-t (3t-1)(t-2)/2-t take out (t-2)/(2-t)=-1 (3t-1)(-1)=(1-3t) then substitute 2 in the equation 1-3(2)=-5
