The Olympic Games and Intercultural Identity

Many people from all over the world come to host country of the Olympic Games.

Various cultures and ethnics are mixing in there.

During the Olympic Games, we can see the difference of cultural identity by each person of each country.

So, I want to show the relationship between intercultural identity and the Olympic Games.

Canadian people love Canada and they show this feeling honestly and directly.

Many Canadian people have national flag, a face painting of the national flag and red Canadian T-shirts.

For Japanese, it may seem to be crazy.

Japanese people do not rarely represent their nationality directly.

Canadian people have cultural identity that represents the nationality openly.

But, Japanese people have the nationality within their mind, too.

Actually, although Japanese people do not show their nationality directly like Canada, they cheered Japanese athletes in games.

How to express their nationality is different between Japanese and Canadian.
