Different Eating Habits

Introduction

I have been wondering why there are few vegetarians in Japan. I realize there are more vegetarians in Canada compared to Japan, so I am interested in the reason why people decided to be vegetarians. I have changed my eating habits since I came to Canada, so I would like to know about different eating habits from different countries, and how their eating habits can be changed.

There are reasons why people decided to be a vegetarian. One is because of their religion. Most Japanese are Buddhists, but actually only a few Japanese believe in Buddhism or any other religions, so they do not have taboos against eating meats. Many immigrants who believe in Islam or Hinduism live in Canada. Muslim do not eat pork, and Hindus do not eat beef. Secondly, there are a lot of organization which aim to protect animals in western countries and many celebrities joined these activities. Therefore, there are more people who are vegetarian in Canada than Japan.

Eating habits are reflected their religions. Of course, it also reflects their taste for foods. Therefore, there are many aspects of eating habits.
