Heinz Tomato Ketchup No Sugar Added

  • Fat substitute: None
  • Sugar Substitute: Sucralose
    • Role: Sucralose is a non-caloric artificial sweetener used in Heinz No Sugar Added Ketchup to replace the sweetness normally provided by sugar. It is approximately 600 times sweeter than sucrose, so only a small amount is needed to achieve a similar taste. It is heat stable, making it suitable for processing and storage, and it does not contribute calories or affect blood glucose levels. [3]
  • Additive: Yeast
    • Role: Yeast extract functions primarily as a flavour enhancer in Heinz No Sugar Added Ketchup. It contains naturally occurring glutamates and 5' ribonucleotides, which provide umami and enhance the perception of tomato flavour. [4]
