Why the Archival Wiki of Knowledge?

The purposes of this assignment are (1) to give students the opportunity to investigate one of the topics covered in the course in greater detail than is possible during class time; (2) to allow students to contribute to the archival field by providing an updated description and analysis of a chosen topic; and (3) to allow students to experiment using the wiki format.

Getting Started

For this wiki project, you will create a new wiki page for your chosen topic and contribute to the work of your peers.

Make sure you have read the instructions and have cleared your topic with your instructor. When you are ready to create your own page, log in to the UBC wiki with your CWL at http://wiki.ubc.ca. If you don't already have a UBC wiki account, you will be asked to set one up. Next, enter your chosen URL directly into your browser's address bar; for example http://wiki.ubc.ca/Course:ARST573/Name_Of_Topic. IT IS IMPORTANT THAT YOU FOLLOW THIS NAMING CONVENTION. Please note that the address is case-sensitive. You will be asked whether you would like to create a new page. To create a new page, select 'edit this page' from the page prompt. At the bottom of your page, include course and category information.
