Chocolate Brownies

A quick, easy chocolate brownie recipe.

Ingredients

  • 112 grams (4 ounces) dark chocolate - 70% cacao or higher is best
  • 177 millilitres (3/4 cup) butter
  • 237 millilitres (1 cup) granulated sugar
  • 3 eggs
  • 5 millilitres (1 tsp) vanilla
  • 237 millilitres (1 cup) all-purpose flour
  • 237 millilitres (1 cup) coarsely chopped walnuts or pecans (optional)

Chocolate Glaze

  • 56 grams (2 ounces) dark chocolate
  • 15 millilitres (2 tbsp) butter
  • 15 millilitres (2 tbsp) water
  • 28 grams (1 ounce) white chocolate (optional)

Directions

1. Lightly grease a 33 x 23 cm (13 x 9 inch) baking pan. 2. Microwave dark chocolate and butter in large bowl on high for 1-2 minutes or until melted. 3. Stir sugar into chocolate until well blended; mix in eggs and vanilla. 4. Stir in flour and nuts; spread in pan. 5. Bake in preheated 177 C (350 F) oven for 30-35 minutes or until done (do not overbake)

Chocolate Glaze: melt dark chocolate with butter and water. Blend until smooth and spread over cooled brownies. Melt white chocolate and drizzle over glazed brownies.
