Beating Around The Bush
When you talk about things indirectly, not stating exactly what you mean.
Example: “Why don’t you just come out and say what you want to say. Stop beating around the bush.”
In Czech, beating around the bush = to walk around hot porridge (chodit kolem horké kaše).
In Finnish, beating around the bush = to pace around hot porridge like a cat (kiertää kuin kissa kuumaa puuroa).
In Maltese, beating around the bush = going round the almond (Iddur mal-lewża).
In Norwegian, beating around the bush = to pace around hot porridge like a cat (å gå som katta rundt den varme grauten).
