Job Description
$19.07 per hour plus 4% holiday pay, plus 11.48% for benefits (CPP, WCB & EI).
The student would be responsible for the following:
- Assist in the identification open education repositories and databases containing biology content
- Assist in the identification open education repositories and databases containing chemistry content to support biology courses
- Assist in the identification of content based on an outline of priority subjects developed by BIOL 112 and 121 instructors. Focus on multimedia creative commons content.
- Collect and categorize the OE content according to a defined categorizing structure (e.g. title, author, description, location, copyright, etc.) and suggestions for collaborative description (e.g. tagging folksonomy)
- Add metadata for content to a temporary storing space, such as UBC wiki.
- Assist in the process for rights and permissions of content identified
This position is supervised by the Biology Subject Librarian.
