And down we went
Descending the winding trail
From moorland to sea
Our horses picking their way over the narrow path
Bare hooves pressing the pebbled sand
I shifted back, set hand against wither
Grasped a fistful of mane
Scanned the horizon for the sloop that should be coming to meet us.
