i sing as troilus
i am troilus betrayed
son of priam
weary and sore from battle with the greeks
for nothing less than a cruel criseyde
verily the maidene dressed in grene
turning my heart from its confines
and there left to wither and die
alone
i sing as troilus of troilus and feel
sorry for myself
glad and big was the love we felt
and criseyde mustnt be blamed for that
our folly alone
forgive her
