Summary

Description
English: Great Indian Bustard in stone sculpture in Kishori Mahal Fort Bharatpur, Rajasthan, India. 17th/18th Century architecture. The bird in the sculpture was identified as Great Indian Bustard by Senior Ornithologist Dr. Ranjit Manakadan. He mentioned "On zooming, one can make out the black crest and black on edge of wings. And only (Great Indian Bustard) males will have such a thick neck and bulky build. Legs are also thicker and longer than peafowl, and the stance is that of GIB". Also, the crest seen in both sexes Indian Peafowl Pavo cristatus is missing. An artist of this calibre, who made the sculpture with so much details, cannot miss the crest, had it been a Peafowl, by any means.
