English: Piles of rubbish which brought by the strong wind is seen scattered at Kuta Beach, 02 January 2021 in Bali Island, Indonesia. According to the local government, the workers with the local people clean up 80 tonnes volume of trash every day as it washes ashore from Kuta beach to Seminyak beach. Every year, the sight of hight amount of trash washed up on the west coast of Bali during Northwest Monsoon Season is thought to occur due to the high rainfall. One of the most popular beach in Bali of Kuta Beach has turned to be a“dumping area” of trash and lasted for months. The results of a survey from the Center of Remote Sensing and Ocean Sciences Udayana University on March-October 2014, showed that 75% of the waste deposited on Kuta beach is plastic waste, with an average waste concentration of 0.25 / square meter. |
