-----TRANSCRIPT----- Victoria V.I. Jany 5. 1863 Royal Fisk. Esq Dear sir Your favor of the 27 [th]ultimo Came to hand this day. with invoices &c Mr E Cook. will pay you the sum of fifteen Hundred dollar[s] which place to my credit I shall probably send you some fund & further orders by next boat at present business is dull and our market full of goods we are having an [indecipherable - ap??] winter and hope to have an Early Spring In which case I shall want large amounts of goods in Feby The dft for $2900 has been duly honored and the goods nearly all in store she made a quick trip Yours Truly J.A.Mc.Crea Description: This letter to Royal Fisk was written by J.A. McCrea in Victoria, Vancouver Island on January 5, 1863. McCrea tells Fisk that Mr. E. Cook will give him money for McCrea's credit. He writes that because business is slow and he is well-stocked, he will wait until the next boat to place an order. McCrea also mentions that if spring comes early he will want a lot of goods in February.
