I shall probably make an arrangement with the Bank of British Columbia So that you can get funds and buy all my goods for cash This will Enable you to attend auctions and take the advantage of any lots offering cheap I presume that the goods you are now & have been sending me could be bought from 5 to ten per cent less for cash than on 30dys. I shall be able to give you all the particulars by the next Steamer I shall send you more funds by the next Steamer . dont forget the Tobacco. Yours Truly J.A. Mc.Crea P.S. If butter is cheap in consequence of the [arrivals] Send me 20 firkin J.A. Mc.C. Description: This letter to Royal Fisk was written by J.A. McCrea in Victoria, Vancouver Island on November 21, 1862. McCrea plans to arrange with the Bank of British Columbia for Fisk to access his funds so he can buy goods with cash and save money. He asks Fisk to ship butter if it is cheap, and reminds him to send tobacco.
