                Dear Sir
                      Your favor of 27. augt 
came to hand this day  Enclosed please
find W. F. & Co draft for the sum of five 
hundred dollars.  I had Expected the 
tobacco would have been sold and
that you would have been in funds
You have not written me on what terms
you purchased the candles.  I want one
hundred boxes shipped first opportunity
If you have not shipped me any of the
Tobacco yet you can put it on the
Steamer  Say ten boxes but if you have
sent ten by sail vessel that will do-- 
I think by appearances we will have
flour Enough when the ships on the way 
get in.  Dont forget to send me word
what you can get for.  Pie fruits & 
pickles and the duty on them  as there
will be a heavy stock of them in here

Description: This letter to Royal Fisk from J.A. McCrea in Victoria, Vancouver Island was written on September 3, 1862 and sent on the "Steamer Pacific".  The letter primarily is about the trading between McCrea and Fisk of a variety of products including tobacco, candles, flour, pie fruits and pickles.  McCrea also included a Wells Fargo and Company draft.
