I enjoyed reading your article. I think that your introduction would work effectively under the "background" subtitle instead of the "introduction" subtitle. I think having both is redudant, and perhaps you should keep just one. Overall, your article very promising start, the introduction is brief and concise. Perhaps you could also explore intersectional issues that concern women in politics as well.
