This is such an interesting topic! I very much enjoyed your write up so far. You mentioned briefly costumes and music, however it would be interesting to mention the role of clothing in Bollywood movies and how this relates to sexuality and adultery. Additionally, how do evolving cultural trend relate back to clothing choices ? With regards to music, I often find Bollywood songs as depicting a male attempting to court a woman in overt gestures or demeaning ways, for example by blocking her way, following her or touching her without her consent. It would be interesting to speak to how these actions demean and control women.

Hello,

This is a very interesting topic to explore and something I've frankly haven't considered while watching snippets of Bollywood music videos. You do a good job of explaining the historical stereotypes of women shown in Bollywood films. Perhaps it would also be a good idea to explore effects of India's religion or the Caste system and how it affects women in Bollywood. This would allow the topic to delve into intersectional issues as well. Overall, awesome topic and great start!

What an interesting choice of topic! I am glad you are highlighting one of the largest film industries in the world aside from Hollywood, and this is quite a relevant time to be discussing such an issue. To really get an encompassing view of the evolution of women within Bollywood, referring to specific iconic actresses, like the late Sridevi, from over the years, along with their images, will add a lot of context to your discussion. It will also show the extreme shift in the fashion trends, from the somber saris of the damsel, to the revealing dresses of vamps, supporting your ideas on misogynistic representations of women in Bollywood.

Hey, I found your wiki page extremely interesting as I've always been struck by the juxtaposing representation of women in Bollywood over the years. Your reference to the "Damsel in Distress" was a very strong point on your page, I would recommend elaborating on that, possibly with other references if you needed to add in more scholarly sources. I feel like you have really strong ideas and a wide grasp on this topic. Another note that might enhance your page would possibly be the addition of photos that show the contrast between old Bollywood and what is portrayed today.

I was motivated to read your wiki as I am Indo-Canadian and I love watching Bollywood movies as well. Having watched many Bollywood movies I have also observed "The Vamp" and the "Damsel in Distress" that continue to be represented until this day in Bollywood movies. You should compare the differences in how Hollywood movies are now having very strong female characters in their movies, while Bollywood movies still appear to lack this. This will show the intersectional difference between Bollywood and Hollywood movies to give readers a better perspective. Also, try to work on your layout and don't forget to add references! I look forward to reading the rest of your wiki!
