Great Work!

Hi! I think this is a great overview, and I liked the terminology you used. Inventing helps us understand that it was an intentional process to build and construct the idea of an Indian in the ways that we have. Furthermore the term “others” is honest and truthful in that the settler society has a distinctive division between themselves and the indigenous people as profoundly other. Perhaps, if it falls within your context, you could bring up the context of the terms like this such as referencing Edward Said, for instance? And how they relate to indigenous issues today. I also think you could expand on the implications- how has the construct of the indian played into the narratives we still confine them to? And that which they confine themselves to? There was some interesting class material related to these questions. Overall I am excited to watch your page develop- as we have very similar topics!
