Additions to Immigration Reform Analysis

Hi Ethan,

Great posting. I have some comments, I think that you did a great job on outlining the history of DACA and partisan tensions that happen in the minutia of political processes. However, I think that greater detail into why the democratic party and the republican parties are so entrenched into their beliefs regarding immigration would have been a great addition for those that may not otherwise understand the ideology of each party.

Additionally, I think that your page would also benefit from having some art and graphs to break up the paragraphs.

The section for consequences are interesting. I think that the page would benefit more from a more sociological analysis of the situation. Addressing issues such as: racism, class and civil and human rights in its own section would have been good in pointing out how this legislation is an institutionalized form of freedom for many. Yet does not tackle the fundamental problems between communities of colour and white Americans.

Lastly it would have been interesting to take on a case study to contextualize the program and problem. This is definitely something that affects the Latino community in America, and perhaps this link to Jose Vargas' CNN documentary, Undocumented, could go towards making this a fuller post. http://www.cnn.com/2014/06/26/living/vargas-documented-immigration-essay/

Overall, great work!
