The picture should be modified for solution 2.

I can't see a solution 2, hence I flagged it as QG. If you want to add the second solution later, please go ahead and change the flags, or add a RS flag to ask for review.

I changed the solution to solve things in a more logical order. The original solution had it solved in a way that works if you already know what you're doing. This way you go through each variable that you need in the order you need it.

I think hint 1 sounds confusing and with a better solution for (a) may not be needed at all.
